Presidents Message

The Madoc Fair is nearly upon us.

It has been my privilege to serve as the President for this long-standing event over the last year.

It is a particular honour for me as I am the third generation of my family to hold this position.  My grandfather Carman served as president from 1969-1970, and my father served as president from 1987-1988 and again from 2011-2012.  I am happy to keep this tradition and many other beloved fair traditions alive.   Our agricultural heritage here in Madoc is truly on display and at the forefront of our fair.  Bringing community and our local culture together.  Old friends and new working alongside each other to put this event on.

Along with our traditional equestrian, livestock shows and homecraft displays we are always excited to have new and interesting events happening at our fair.  This year you can look forward to many home craft and agricultural displays.  Of course, you can also expect our famous demolition derby and truck and tractor pulls. Many people put a great deal of time, effort, and heart into making this yearly event such a success.  I would like to humbly thank all our very dedicated directors, volunteers and sponsors who come together to make the Madoc Fair an ongoing yearly tradition.

As always, we look forward to seeing you there as a spectator, exhibitor or maybe even a new volunteer,

See you at the fair,

Caitlynn Downey, President
